Falling for Innocence: How I Fell for the 2015 K-Drama.

  • Falling for Innocence is a Korean drama about a man who starts falling in love with his secretary after a heart transplant.

Even though the drama came out last year, . Here are a few things that made me fall for the drama.

  • Jung Kyung-ho
    • I’m new to the Jung Kyung-ho fan party as I didn’t know anything about him up until last week when I watched another one of his dramas, One More Happy Ending, and fell in love with his character. Though his character in this drama differs from the other one I watched, there’s a common thread between the characters that Kyung-ho brings to the role (and that I’m sure he brings to all of his roles) that makes the characters shine in a different way. I love the way he makes his character in this drama loveable yet pitiful and worthy of a second chance. I think his comedic timing is amazing, and I love that he’s also able to bring the drama, the emotion and such levels of passion to the role.
  • Jin Goo
    • Earlier this year, Descendants of the Sun proved to be one of the most popular dramas of the year, and while everyone was busy falling head over heels for lead Yoo Sujin played by Song Joon-gi, I was distracted by Seo Daeyoung, played by Jin Goo, finding myself waiting for his scenes. Naturally, after watching DOTS I fell in love with Jin Goo and vowed to watch every last drama and film he had ever been in. though this is currently the only other thing I’ve seen him in besides DOTS, and he really only appeared in the first two episodes, after watching this drama I’m hoping to keep that promise to myself. Not only is Goo really cute, but he’s also very talented it was great seeing him in a loveable and not so stoic role.
  • Soundtrack
    • Like with most other television shows and films that I love, the soundtrack to this drama was on par with that of Shonda Rhimes’ shows. I loved all the instrumental tracks that added a sense of calm throughout the tense and dramatic moments, as well as the lyrical songs that added that extra bit of depth and emotion to the story. My favourites were ‘Hope is Not a Dream’ by Lee Young Hoon and ‘Paradise’ by Davink. That said though, every song on this soundtrack is worth a good hundred listens.
  • Storyline
    • Obviously the full storyline is a bit more complicated than a man simply falling in love with his secretary after a heart transplant; but not wanting to give away any spoilers, I will say that aside from love, some of the other themes that run through this drama are definitely: self-discovery, self-reflection and fresh starts. It was after the tenth or eleventh episode that I found myself looking inwards and thinking of ways that I could become a better person and start afresh in many areas of my life. I found the storyline extremely moving on many levels, and it really struck a chord with me.

This drama is definitely worth a watch if you want something thrilling, romantic and intense with a sprinkle of fun on top.
